Alaior
Alaior is Menorca’s third largest rural town after the capital Mahon and Ciutadella. Not much has changed here and is is famous for the Mahon Cheese, made at the Coinga factory. For this reason you can see many multi-coloured cows around many corners in the town!
Plaza/Square Alaior
Markets: Alaior Thursday + Night market on Wednesdays in the streets of the old town, from 27 June to 5 September, with stalls selling crafts, jewellery, clothes, leather goods etc. and musical entertainment from 19.00 to 23.00 hours.
Riding around on a mobility scooter or by wheelchair in Alaior is possible as the little town has drop curbs and wide paths along the narrow streets. The main square with its many bars and terraces is also easily accessible. The streets around the Plaza are suitable for wheelchairs because they are flat. The Baroque styled St. Eulalia Church, rebuilt in the 17th century is also accessible due to the stone slope leading up to the entrance.
Fiesta
Fiesta Sant Llorenc takes place in Alaior on the second weekend after 10th August and the locals get to dance with the horses!
